History
Established in 2021, The Retro Tai-Pan was home to one of the earliest garment factory of Tainan. Prospered in the 1980s, the garment industry in Tainan faded out with the relocation of factories to China and other south-east Asia countries. The building itself, remained to witness the ups and downs of the industry.
Design
Dedicated to provide a soulful journey of Tainan style, the design of the Retro Tai-Pan is a remix of retroism, loft and old tradition, most suitable as a delight start of serendipity to the Ancient Capital of Taiwan.
While providing a gentle space and modern room facilities such as WiFi and cable TV, the terrazzo flooring and old sewing machines round the corners brings memories of the good old 70’s.
Location
Situated in the very heart of ancient Tainan City, the Retro Tai-Pan is neighbor to various tourist attractions such as Hai-An Road, Bao-An Road, and Guo-Hua Street. There are numerous famous street foods and restaurants around, and the night life and weekend market at Hai-An road is a must-go for many youngsters.

Located conveniently in the main town area of Tainan – walkable to many attractions in the area. Room is very stylish (love the industrial and retro look), clean and comfy. And also rather spacious! The breakfast is quite delicious and a generous portion, we ended up ordering only one portion for two person on second day. Staff are friendly and check in/out were quick and efficient. Very value for money!

This industrial theme hotel is super nice. Spacious room and have japanese toilet. The have usb port to charge you mobile phone. Their space to have breakfast is limited, so you have to decide what time do u want for breakfast a day before. Their menu and portion of breakfast was amazing. Make you full of energy

The hotel is so lovely! The room was spacious, the bed big and comfy. AC worked great. The bathroom was clean and had everything you might need. Included breakfast was tasty and they give you 4 options to choose from as you’re ordering a day before. The staff speaks English very well and are very friendly. The place is close to a street full of shops, unending temples, so many tasty restaurants, walking distance away from museums and a UBike station.
